Happy New Year 2013!
One of my new year's day rituals is to scan my many bookshelves and select 2-4 books to read for inspiration all year long in small installments--usually a few pages each morning or evening. These books generally fall into the spiritual enrichment and self improvement categories, with reorganizing, simplifying, and clearing clutter among the usual suspects.
While perusing the many books in my collection, I came across one to share right now:
The Bibliophiles Devotional: 365 Days of Literary Classics by Hallie Ephron
This book offers a daily plot synopsis of a classic or contemporary work, including a short passage from the text and an expert's comments on the selected author. The January 1 featured title is White Teeth by Zadie Smith.
I am choosing Ephron's book as one of my daily reads for 2013, and am recommending it for anyone short on reading time, readers interested in literary masterpieces, and everyone in between.
Wishing you a happy, prosperous, and book-filled new year.
Catherine
